Hong Kong firm to expand research base in city
The Hong Kong-based provider of value added services and gaming platforms - Goldfinch Mobile Solutions - has expanded its Research & Development (R&D) base in India, making the Chandigarh IT Park its hub. The company, having operations in Malaysia and Indonesia, plans to invest nearly US $ 1.5 million into its operations across South-East Asia this year.
The new R&D centre in Chandigarh will focus on developing applications based on multiplayer gaming techniques on mobiles, mobile advertising and forming communities for gaming.
“We are bringing gaming to India in partnership with Ozura. A complete integrated Gaming Engine known as FunlogiX will be provided to the Indians. We will be targeting to launch these services for GSM and CDMA networks, besides DTH and IPTV as well,” said Newton Bubber, CEO of Goldfinch.
The other R&D Centre in Singapore is engaged in evolving applications for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services for mobile, WEB and WAP.
Newton said: “Research is also going on in Singapore for a new roaming service - My Alerts. This will help in informing a selected set of people through self-generated messages about the location of the person while travelling. It is expected to be launched in the international market in December.”
Mobile advertising is another segment which Goldfinch is exploring. The company is in talks with Nokia to introduce advertising campaigns through IVR and WAP.
